If the Big Apple is where you heart is, drop into Napket on the King’s Road for a taste of New York City chic. The newly opened ‘café boutique’ is the byword in cool.

The space is relatively small without feeling claustrophobic, and the decoration is so uber-trendy it takes your breath away. Exposed brickwork and big steel pipes are juxtaposed with chandeliers in black silk lampshades, framed pictures of depressingly pretty models and slick black furniture. The long shiny communal table is broken up with beautiful individual red roses and tiny little black iPods. Pull out the drawer by your seat and find a set of headphones stashed away, allowing you to choose the music for your meal. The menu is displayed on a vast blackboard with an art deco gilt frame and every detail, from the napkins to the waiters in ties and long black aprons, screams style.

The food is laid out on a counter that spans the entire left side of the restaurant. Choose some bread, either savoury like chorizo and red pepper, bacon and pumpkinseed, or goats cheese and poppyseed. Or try the sweet varieties, like nutella, candy, or tea. Grab a croissant and a smoothie for breakfast or stop for mid-morning coffee or hot chocolate and add English toffee or marshmallows. Have a selection of salads, displayed in huge terracotta bowls. Or indulge in one of the twenty different sandwiches served in white bread, brown baguette, bagels, wraps, croissants with fillings of absolutely every kind.

So arrange to meet some mates and select some tunes to accompany your lunch or get some chic yet healthy food 'on the go' and be the envy of the office.  Even the take away knives and forks say stylish...Très soignée.
